St.Lukes Mission Hospital Terms of Reference FOR SLMH / EC “Delivering for Young Mothers” - Baseline Survey Proposed Baseline Survey on EC Supported SLMH DYM Programme   About the Delivering for Young Mothers Programme Baseline Survey Introduction and Background  St. Luke’s Mission Hospital in partnership with DSW and WOFAK has received funds from the European Union to implement a 3 year project towards strengthening the Delivery of health services to Young Mothers in three Counties of Kilifi, Mombasa and Kwale in Coast Region.  Project’s goal  To increase the quality and uptake of key health services and behaviors that contributes to safe motherhood, sexual and reproductive health, and nutrition among young women in Kilifi, Kwale and Mombasa Counties Project objective  To contribute to reduction in maternal and newborn mortality rate by 20% in the targeted Counties, thereby contributing to the achievement of the MDGs (particularly 4 and 5) The Focus of the Baseline   The proposed baseline survey is expected to establish the status of provision of delivering for young mother’s services in 6 districts in coast region in Kenya namely Mombasa, Kilindini, Kwale, Kinango, Kaloleni and Ganze. More specifically it will provide a situational analysis of the Delivery of Safe Motherhood and reproductive health services for young mothers in the programme catchment area.  The baseline report will be an important tool for mapping and guiding the implementation and for monitoring progress as well as evaluating the impact of the EC supported SLMH delivering for young mothers programme.  It is expected to identify existing gaps in provision of Youth Friendly Safe motherhood, and reproductive health services including FP, improving nutrition outcomes, and strengthening health service delivery, propose areas of future partnerships and generate recommendation for future action.  The baseline will be widely shared with partners and stakeholders
