Title: Procurement Officer   Country: Kenya   Job Location: Nairobi       Employing Office: East Africa Regional Office   Application Email: wvaro_recruit@wvi.org Closing Date: August 03 2012 Description       The position will manage an efficient procurement support system in EARO.  To procure goods and services in accordance with the WV EARO and WV Kenya laid down systems, procedures and guideline   Qualifications:  Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training: The position includes a great variety of assignments, which must be undertaken with minimal supervision.    The position therefore requires minimum qualification of: Bachelor’s degree in business Administration, economics or relevant field with Post-Graduate Diploma in purchasing and supply management preferred Professional qualifications or any other recognized certification in Supply Chain Management Membership to professional body is desirable e.g KISM/ CIPS Good negotiation skills along with business acumen is essential Good communication and interpersonal skills Mature proactive person with initiative, drive and honesty with high level of integrity, who can perform and meet expectations with minimal supervision Good planning and organizational skills and efficient work methods Ability to communicate within a cross-cultural environment essential. Ability to effectively respond to daily changing priorities, good problem solving skills and a team player At least 3 years experience in the Supply Chain Management field.
